If you study for a Diploma, you will learn in new ways and different environments, not just the classroom. It will also give you the opportunity to explore a subject area and develop the appropriate skills to demonstrate what you have learnt.
Compulsory elements of your Diploma will cover the main things you'll need to know and be able to do in your chosen area. It also includes team working, problem solving, analytical and research skills.
In addition, you will be able to choose from a range of optional subjects in the additional and specialist learning parts of your Diploma. This will enable you to develop your skills in areas that interest you or to study a different subject that you think may be useful in the future - for example a language.
All Diploma students need to achieve a minimum standard in English, maths and ICT. Your work placement will enable you to gain a greater insight into working practices.
