The Environment and Land-Based Studies Foundation Diploma prepares young people for a range of progression routes.  It is designed to broaden your horizons to give you a wide range of choices of next-step options which include:

Progression through the different levels of the Environment and Land-Based Studies Diploma
Progression from one Level to a Higher Level Diploma in another line of learning (changing sectors)
Further or Higher Education
An Apprenticeship
Employment
Setting up your own business

Students who have completed a Foundation of Higher Diploma in Environment and Land-Based Studies might choose to go on to do an Advanced Diploma, or perhaps to do A Levels.  You may decide to start an Apprenticeship or take a job with further training.  The Advanced Diploma can lead on to college or university, or to further training and employment.

25,000 new entrants are required in the sector in the next 5 years!  There are 17 different types of industry within the sector, providing 1,700 job roles ranging from renewable energy, landscape design to farming. 

Success in the Diploma in Environment and Land-Based Studies does not mean students have to pursue a career in this sector.  The Diploma gives you relevant, transferrable skills that will be welcomed by colleges, universities and employers throughout the world.
