Sport and active leisure - Partners in learning

The Vision for the Plymouth Consortium - is to create a student centred diploma pathway that appeals to students in a city that already supports young Olympians.

To equip young people with the skills, knowledge and understanding to gain employment in the sport and active leisure sector or to pursue  a pathway to further and higher education opportunities. Enrich curriculum opportunities by providing an attractive and relevant pathway to meet the needs of all learners and challenge urban deprivation within a city of diverse social structure that is surrounded by quality moorland and marine environments. To widen participation opportunities for learners and to engage them in volunteering and leadership activities, through sport and active leisure. Enhance the 'personalised' curriculum by taking a learner centred approach to planning the entire programme with opportunities for a diverse range of active leisure pursuits. To encourage young people to develop lifelong values that apply widely and  underpin engagement in the sports and the active leisure industry, such as friendship, courage, determination, excellence, equality, respect and inspiration.
