In Environment and Land-Based Studies our aim is to bring your learning to life.  You will learn in a variety of different environments beyond the classroom and learn in a way that allows you to practically apply your learning to real life situations.  The diploma takes advantage of Plymouth's unique location and will allow you to explore a range of outdoor places:  the City itself (urban areas); the surrounding countryside including Dartmoor, and our marine and coastal environments. 

Supported by a rich range of employers and partner organisations you will learn directly from them in workplaces like the National Marine Aquarium, Eden Project, Duchy College and Ginsters.

The course will be delivered be some teachers from your schools whom you may already know, and also by lecturers and tutors from Duchy College and the British Trust of Conservation Volunteers (BTCV).  This partnership has worked hard together to ensure that this course is a success and that your learning experience will be rewarding and exciting.

Because of the breadth of the Environment and Land-Based sector, this course will appeal to many different types of learner particularly if you are interested in science, geography, animal care, environmental issues or self employment in one of those areas.
